This award is voted on by the Long and Foster agents to determine the best agent for that year in terms of professionalism and client service. She has been an agent for 8 years. Mary says, "I am very happy to be part of the RAI program. It creates a venue for myself and other good citizens to make a contribution to our deserving non-profit organizations during this economic downturn. Together, we can make a difference!"

Paul Orphanides is a full time Realtor® with RE/MAX Select Properties, and is licensed in Virginia. Prior to becoming a Realtor® Paul owned a graphics & photography company specializing in trade shows and corporate displays. For over twenty years he was on the “Preferred Vendor List” for Marriott Int’l. where he mastered the art of Customer Service. “For me, Customer Service has no bounds. It begins with my industry education and acquired knowledge, well before my first meeting with a client. Buyer or Seller, I’m totally focused on their needs and my goal is to make them feel like they are my only client. That’s success. Frankly that level of Customer Service should never end. Stay connected as a trusted resource – people frequently need referrals to painters, etc. long after a transaction has closed. And sometimes they just want to refer someone that they care about, to their “Great Agent”.
Of course the marketing & photography skills he developed along with excellent negotiating abilities perfectly compliment his real estate career & “the art of the deal”. “It gives me great pride & joy when I help a Seller properly stage their home, and then photograph it in such a way as to literally show it in its best light. Doing so makes a huge difference in terms of maximum exposure and ultimately, the price the home sells for.”
When it comes to community, Paul has long history of service. He was a volunteer soccer coach & referee with SYSA for seventeen years, he donates a portion of his earnings from each transaction to the Children’s Miracle Network, he’s a Salvation Army Bell Ringer during the holidays and he regularly donates food to the Loudoun Interfaith Relief Food Bank. “Partnering with RAI as a supporting agent was a No-Brainer for me”.

Hailing from Frederick, MD, but making WV home, Adam Shively is so excited to be a part of an organization that gives so much back to the community. Beginning his career as a middle school teacher and high school basketball coach in Frederick and Montgomery Counties in MD, Adam had an easy transition into new home sales, treating each customer as an individual and focussing on their specific needs and circumstances. It was an even easier transition creating 4 State Real Estate LLC and working alongside Keller Williams Rice Realty, with an office in Harpers Ferry, WV. When the opportunity arose to partner with RAI and offer a little bit back to the communities we all value, Adam jumped at the opportunity. It just makes sense and results in a win-win-win for the community, the buyer and/or seller and the agent involved, as people will always remember the transaction and the fact that they worked with an agent who gave back in their name. It was a natural fit for Adam coming from a community service background. Says Adam Shively, "Life just feels better when we give back and giving is always returned ten fold even in such a tough economy." Adam is proud to offer his services in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Tracy was a professional landscaper with her own design and installation business as well as a studio photographer with an eye for detail. "Tracy and I are excited about the opportunity to work with clients for the many organizations we have introduced to the RAI program. Knowing we are contributing to these organizations in a significant way means a lot to us." As parents of a child with Autism, there is a personal satisfaction in knowing that thru our work and participation we are making a difference for children with Special Needs and their families as well. We are also happy to work with anyone from any of RAI's other charities. There is a great feeling in knowing we can contribute to the community in this way.

The Melia Team is a successful husband and wife real estate team with Re/Max Select Properties. They have been helping families buy and sell real estate all across Northern Virginia since 1988. They are recipients of the "Best of Loudoun" award for realtors and have consistently received awards from Re/Max International and the local realtor associations. Their greatest personal satisfaction comes from doing a great job for their clients. They are professional, knowledgeable and love what they do. They have been successful through many real estate cycles, the good and the not so good. When the economy went into the downturn, they realized that many homeowners were facing financial distress and they went back to school and became Certified Distressed Property Experts. They understand the short sale process and can sit down with individuals and help them make informed decisions about their options. Debbie and Tim believe in giving back to the community and have done so with volunteer work throughout their lives. When they were approached by RAI, they were excited to become realtor partners. They are ready to put their skills to work to raise money for Northern Virginia's non-profits.
